Welder and Fabricator

We are seeking a skilled Welder and Fabricator to join our team. This role involves performing MIG and Stick welding on structural steel and metal components, reading and interpreting blueprints, and fabricating metal parts according to specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG (GMAW) and Stick (SMAW) welding on structural steel and metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols.
• Fabricate, fit, and assemble metal parts according to specifications.
• Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures, squares, levels, and other precision tools.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
• Grind, clean, and prepare surfaces before and after welding.
• Operate welding equipment, cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of MIG and Stick welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication layouts.
• Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, or structural steel.
• Ability to use measuring tools accurately.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Welding certification (AWS or equivalent).
• Experience with structural steel fabrication.
• Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or plasma cutting equipment.
• Ability to perform fit-up and layout work independently.
• Experience with buffing and drilling.

Work Environment

The work environment is non-climate controlled, with shifts running from 6am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conley, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
