Registered Nurse Oncology

Oncology RN, Rotating Shifts $3211 Weekly Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in the oncology department, including administering chemotherapy treatments and managing side effects Monitor and assess patients' physical and emotional well‑being, and provide appropriate interventions Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and self‑care measures Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system (Cerner) Administer medications, including IV therapy, as prescribed by physicians Perform procedures such as spinal taps, gastric lavage, and catheter care as needed Assist with ambulatory surgery center procedures related to oncology patients Conduct physical examinations and provide primary care services to patients as required Manage pain through various interventions and collaborate with the pain management team Requirements Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of {location} Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing preferred Experience working with pediatric oncology patients is a plus Proficient in using electronic medical record systems, specifically Cerner Ability to lift and move patients safely using proper body mechanics Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
