Job Description
Davin Tech Group
Davin Tech Group is a managed IT and cybersecurity partner supporting mission-driven organizations across the country. We embed ourselves into our clients' operations, combining hands-on technical execution with thoughtful advice, clear communication, and high standards. We want people who take ownership, move with urgency, and care deeply about the people they support.
The Role
The IT Consultant is a client leadership role within our consulting team. You’ll independently own relationships with a portfolio of clients and work alongside Specialists, Engineers, and other Consultants to ensure their technology supports their business, people, and long-term goals.
You’ll lead client meetings, define technology priorities and roadmaps, manage projects, develop budgets and recommendations, and coordinate the people needed to deliver successful outcomes. We expect you to understand each client’s business, communicate clearly with stakeholders, identify risks and opportunities, and take ownership from strategy through execution.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the technology relationship and overall delivery experience for a portfolio of clients.
- Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business, people, systems, risks, and priorities.
- Lead recurring client meetings and communicate priorities, recommendations, risks, progress, and next steps.
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps, budgets, lifecycle plans, and strategic recommendations.
- Lead technology projects from discovery and planning through implementation, communication, training, and closeout.
- Coordinate Specialists, Engineers, vendors, and client stakeholders to keep work moving and deliver successful outcomes.
- Identify technical debt, recurring problems, security risks, and opportunities to improve how clients operate.
- Guide clients through technology and cybersecurity decisions, including difficult conversations around risk, budget, priorities, and change.
- Ensure client environments, documentation, projects, and open initiatives remain organized and moving forward.
- Mentor Specialists and Associate Consultants and help develop their technical and client-facing judgment.
- Stay technically engaged and jump into complex issues when your experience or leadership is needed.
Who We’re Looking For:
- You’re a high-agency problem solver who naturally takes ownership. When something doesn’t make sense, you dig in. When something is going off track, you communicate early and work to get it back on course. You don’t wait for clients or teammates to chase you for updates.
- You enjoy variety and are comfortable managing multiple clients, projects, priorities, industries, and technology environments at the same time. You’re highly organized and thorough, and you notice the details that can easily become bigger problems if ignored.
- You’re a people-first technologist and an exceptional communicator. You ask thoughtful questions, listen for what a client is actually trying to accomplish, and translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for people at every level of technical fluency. You’re comfortable having direct conversations about expectations, risk, budget, priorities, and difficult decisions.
- Most importantly, you think beyond the immediate technical problem. You’re constantly asking: What does the client need next, what could get in their way, and how do we help them get there?
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of progressively responsible IT experience, including a strong hands-on technical foundation.
- Experience owning client relationships, an IT function, significant technology projects, or similar responsibility.
- Strong working knowledge across endpoints, identity, SaaS, cloud platforms, networking, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
- Experience translating business and technical needs into plans, priorities, budgets, projects, and recommendations.
- Strong project management, organization, and follow-through.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Confidence working directly with executives, managers, technical teams, end users, and vendors.
- Strong judgment and the ability to operate independently while knowing when to involve others.
- The ability to move comfortably between strategic planning and technical execution.
- A genuine interest in helping organizations improve through technology.
Bonus points:
- Experience working in an MSP, consulting, or other multi-client environment.
- Experience developing and executing technology roadmaps and annual IT budgets.
- Experience leading cloud, identity, networking, infrastructure, security, migration, or office-buildout projects.
- Experience managing vendors and third-party technology partners.
- Experience working with regulated organizations or frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, CMMC, DFARS, PCI, or 21 CFR Part 11.
- Experience mentoring or developing technical team members.
- Experience presenting recommendations to executives or leadership teams.
- A technical hobby or project you're genuinely excited to talk about.
Physical & Work Environment:
This is a hands-on role, and sometimes that means getting away from the desk. You may be installing equipment, tracing cabling, moving between workstations, or working in network and IT spaces. With or without reasonable accommodation, you should be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds, crouch or kneel when needed, and use a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods.
Location & On-site Expectations:
This role is based at our headquarters in Plymouth, MA, with hybrid flexibility and regular client-site work. Our clients span nationwide, so you should be comfortable getting on the road when the work calls for it.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to local client locations are required. Davin provides commuter benefits and mileage reimbursement in accordance with IRS guidelines.
Compensation & Benefits:
$90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus monthly incentive pay program.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance (100% covered for employees; 50% for dependents).
- Company-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Unlimited PTO.
- Flexible work environment.
How We Work:
- Take ownership. Do what you say you'll do. If something changes, communicate.
- Move with urgency. Not everything is an emergency, but important things don't sit around.
- Figure things out. Investigate, ask good questions, involve the right people, and keep moving.
- Take care of people. The person on the other side of the technology matters.
- Leave it better. Solve today's problem and look for ways to prevent tomorrow's.
How to Apply:
Send your resume and a brief introduction to careers"@" davintechgroup.com. Tell us why you're interested in the role, what makes you a strong fit, and anything you've built, learned, or worked on that we should know about.
