Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week travel nursing contract in North Platte, Nebraska. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,500–$2,630
• Location: North Platte, Nebraska
• Healthcare Setting: Acute-care, Level III trauma center operating room
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week, typically starting at 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m.; 40 hours per week
• Operating Room Environment: Six operating rooms, two endoscopy suites, one C-section room, and two pain clinic suites
• Call Schedule: Rare weeknight call; typically one weekend day every 4–5 weeks with a 24-hour rotation, plus approximately one holiday per contract
• Call Response: Within 20 minutes for C-section cases and 30 minutes for other cases
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC
• Orientation: General hospital orientation followed by approximately one week of operating room orientation

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Nebraska
• At least 2 years of recent operating room nursing or perioperative nursing experience
• Recent orthopedic and robotic surgery experience required
• Ability to scrub; prior RN scrub nurse experience is preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience in a fast-paced surgical environment with strong teamwork and communication skills
• Must reside outside of North Platte, Nebraska, in accordance with assignment requirements

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient perioperative nursing care for patients throughout the surgical experience
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for scheduled procedures
• Participate in a broad range of cases, including laparoscopic, cystoscopy, podiatry, ENT, OB/GYN, urology, plastics, pediatric dental, GI, orthopedic, neurosurgical spine, and robotic procedures
• Perform circulating RN responsibilities and support surgical teams during complex procedures
• Scrub for procedures as assigned and maintain sterile technique
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative care team
• Respond to scheduled call assignments, including C-section and other urgent surgical cases
• Float to endoscopy or the pain clinic when operationally needed
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and promote a high standard of patient safety and quality
