Human Resources Specialist 1 - Payroll Specialist

This position resides in the Director's Office Division of Department of Revenue. Duties include providing administrative support as well as specialized services in support of HR operations and programs with the primary focus on payroll and benefits associated with payroll. The position does not supervise other staff.

Knowledge of: Payroll and accounting systems, Payroll and benefits administration, Benefits associated with payroll technical accounting and auditing procedures and guidelines, Applicable federal and state statutes including FMLA and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Administrative rules, State and Departmental policies and procedures, General office practices

Skills in: Research and analysis, Accuracy and attention to detail, Conflict resolution & customer service, Microsoft programs and other data base applications, Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication

This position may be eligible to work from an approved worksite within the state of Montana. This position would be required to report to a Department of Revenue office assigned by the supervisor. Employees must meet and sustain Department of Revenue telework eligibility requirements and supervisor's approval to participate in the DOR Telework Program.

The minimum level needed on the first day of work is High school diploma or GED Three (3) years of job-related work experience including office operations, business communications using standard and specialized software applications. Preferred work experience includes SABHRS or other payroll and benefits systems. Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Salary: $57,144.00-58,968.00 Yearly

Telework Eligibility: Telework Eligible (Full-time telework is not available. Telework schedule must be supervisor approved.)
