Controller

Serve as the sole accounting lead, owning all aspects of the accounting function in a high-growth fintech environment Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close Build and implement scalable accounting processes, controls, and policies to support rapid growth Oversee high-volume tax compliance, including partnership filings (1065s), K-1s, and multi-entity structures Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax/regulatory requirements in a complex, evolving industry Lead financial reporting and analysis, providing visibility into business performance and key metrics Partner closely with leadership on cash management, forecasting, and strategic financial planning Evaluate, implement, and optimize accounting systems and tools to improve efficiency and automation Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and operations teams to support business initiatives Support audit processes and external CPA coordination, owning day-to-day accounting while leveraging external partners for specialized work Bring structure and discipline to a fast-moving, ambiguous startup environment Qualifications Active CPA license required 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry) Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting standards Experience with partnership accounting and high-volume tax filings (1065s, K-1s) strongly preferred Proven ability to own and operate full-cycle accounting independently Experience building or improving accounting processes, systems, and controls Comfortable working in a startup or high-growth environment with evolving priorities Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights Experience with accounting systems and ERP implementations Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to operate with urgency and ownership #J-18808-Ljbffr Hirewell
