Medical ScribeThe Medical Scribe verifies patient information by interviewing the patient, recording medical history, and documenting purpose of visit. They prepare patients for examination, and document the entire visit.Essential Functions:Maintaining patient privacy and adhering to HIPAA guidelines at all timesUsing computer applications- performing any data entry tasks to document patient demographics, records or note to file. Documenting patients' medical information, including medical history and review of symptoms within EHR of patients’ chart.Managing office telephone system, including answering calls and returning messagesScheduling patient appointments and maintaining communication to confirm future appointments when necessary.Updating and filing patient medical records and or any patient correspondenceTransmitting prescription or refill requests as directed by providerClinical DutiesWelcoming and greeting patientsMaintaining HIPAA and performing OSHA standards at all timesTaking medical histories, recording patients' chief complaint and documenting provider evaluation notes of visit in patients’ chartMonitoring and documenting patient symptoms for physicians' review during clinical examsPreparing patients for examination-Prepping exam rooms for clinical, surgical or cosmetic procedures and assisting providers during exams with patient careExplaining treatment procedures to patientsEnsuring all consents are signed by the patient prior to provider performing any type of procedureProviding compassionate patient support and care, attention and assistance during office visits.
