Data Engineer
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer for a contract position with a Major Insurance Company located in San Antonio, TX. This is a hybrid position. Compensation: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications. This role focuses on data engineering within the property and casualty insurance sector. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in technical development, data design, and implementing AI-first strategies using modern data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks. This position requires translating complex business needs into actionable data solutions within a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform technical development, data design, and implementation within the P&C insurance industry
- Implement AI-first strategies utilizing modern data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable data solutions
- Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
Primary Requirements:
- Extensive experience (5 years) in data engineering, with proven expertise in technical development, data design, and implementation in the insurance industry, preferably within P&C
- Solid understanding of property & casualty insurance operations
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
- Experience implementing AI-first strategies and working with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake; Databricks, big data, analytics) relevant to P&C insurance
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based data architectures commonly used in the P&C insurance industry (e.g., Snowflake, AWS)
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and industry-standard data engineering tools and frameworks
- Exposure with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), LangChain, and vector databases
- Experience with other advanced analytics approaches in property & casualty insurance for AI-centric products
