Job Title: Structural BIM ModelerDepartment: EngineeringReports to: Design Manager GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOBIn collaboration with the engineering team and other stakeholders, the BIM Modeler develops designs by conceptualizing, creating, revising and finalizing "Best for Project" 3D designs and drawings of complex permanent mine facility infrastructure, temporary shaft sinking gear, material handling, process systems, and above ground facilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESHEALTH AND SAFETYWork in compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations for CementationBe aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety DepartmentEnsure all applicable safety codes and regulations are met by appropriate design and use of technologyBe a champion for safety, advocating safe behaviour while incorporating safety into the designs produced by the groupGENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis description lists the core responsibilities and duties of the position. Additional duties deemed to be within the incumbent's capabilities, on an as-required basis, might be assigned by management.Generate 3D designs of surface and underground mine facilities and infrastructureGenerate preliminary sketches, general arrangement drawings, structural drawings and details, material take-offs or other deliverables that illustrate design intent, while conforming to internal engineering and design standardsCollaborate with internal multidisciplinary design, engineering, project management and operations teams to produce "Best for Project" designs that are safe, constructible, operable and maintainableComplete designs within designated schedule and budget as defined within project requirementsCheck designs and drawings for function, fit-up, and compliance to internal and regulatory standards both on work you perform and work within the officeDevelop and grow positive relationships with teams both internal and external to engineeringAdditional weekly or daily hours, while infrequent, are anticipated and will be required when needed. Personal schedules will be accommodated to the best of our ability.Other duties as assignedTRAVEL REQUIREMENTSThis position has the requirement for infrequent travel to project sites, offices, and/or to conduct shop reviewsTravel period may range from one day to several weeks and may include overseas assignmentsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSBachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or similar is preferredRequired proficiency in Autodesk Revit0-4 years of relevant experienceExperience in heavy construction, mining, or industrial structures is beneficialPassing the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is beneficialEIT or desire to obtain PE in the future preferredCertificate of Completion from an authorized Autodesk Training Center (ATC) accredited program is beneficialSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIESSafety orientedDemonstrated technical knowledge of design and/or construction processesAbility to learn quickly and willingness to adapt as circumstances changeAbility to pay attention to small detailAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, owners and subcontractorsAbility to read and understand information found in construction documents, plans, and specificationsKnowledge and skills in the following software considered an asset:Autodesk Navisworks, AutoCAD, etc.Autodesk Construction Cloud (Forma)Bluebeam RevuMS Office SuitePython, C# or other programming experience beneficialWHAT WE OFFERCompetitive payCompany and personal performance bonusSafety bonusPremium benefits plan (low deductible and out-of-pocket max, monthly premium paid by company with no employee contribution)Hybrid work schedule (2 days remote, 3 days in office)Collaborative, innovative, and rewarding work environmentUnique and exciting project work Cementation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
