Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Registered Nurse (RN) Saint Louis, Missouri. The position supports high-acuity cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical services, with additional exposure to transplant and complex pancreatic and vascular procedures. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift; 10 hours per shift; 40 hours per week minimum.
• Required Qualifications: RN licensure as required by the applicable state and/or compact agreement; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; flu vaccination as required; scrub experience and circulating experience required; sufficient Level 1 trauma experience required; minimum 2 years of experience required (1 year considered if Level 1 trauma facility experience is more than 1 year); pending license accepted.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Additional Information:
  • Cardiac and thoracic cases are primary, with vascular experience covering both open and endovascular procedures.
  • Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for assigned cases as needed, supporting a hectic, urgent emergent environment, and ensuring missing instruments are entered into the instrument tracking system as discussed during orientation.
  • On-call coverage is required as needed (weekday, weeknight, and weekends), with scheduling varying by unit needs within a typical 6-week period.
  • Floating within the service line is required.
  • Heart and lung transplant experience is needed for night shift; appropriate experience should be reflected in the submission.
