ALL ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process and efficiency. This team leads food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food and Beverage areas of the store. The role of a Starbucks Barista can provide you with the following skills and experiences: Providing a consistent Starbucks experience for guests by curating handcrafted Starbucks food quality and freshness management State and federal food safety and OSHA guidelines Typical Responsibilities Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments: Greet guests with friendliness and warmth; help guests find what they need and resolve issues; end every transaction with a sincere thank you. Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas, maintaining positive and respectful attitude. Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience. Deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing guest needs over task. Uphold and maintain Food & Beverage Standards. Execute food and beverage processes including deliveries, replenishment, instocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing, and storing reserve product. Stay aware of current and future promotions within Starbucks. Follow all Target and Starbucks routines to deliver consistent experience while completing tasks efficiently and maintaining food safety. Support the Starbucks Drive-Up process to ensure digital guest orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Maintain an inviting dining area for guests during shift. Engage with guests to meet and exceed expectations based on Starbucks standards. Produce hand‑crafted beverages and food to specifications on recipe cards. Follow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature sensitive food items. Complete and record all cleaning tasks in Starbucks space. Locate and identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process according to best practices. Ensure accurate in‑stocks by placing store‑initiated orders according to best practices. Follow perishable inventory procedures to ensure accurate recording of inventory. Execute sampling best practices. Complete all required training and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products. Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance. Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices and training; report hazards and correct where possible. Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive‑Up (DU) while maintaining compliance culture including adult beverage laws. You are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and other peak shopping times). Desired Skills Previous Starbucks/food service experience preferred, but not required. Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members. Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed. Work both independently and with a team. Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot. Attention to detail and ability to follow multi‑step processes. Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes. Basic Expectations Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues. Interpret instructions, reports and information. Accurately handle cash register operations as needed. Climb ladders if needed. Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without additional assistance. Maintain flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); attend scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks. Work in environments that include refrigeration and freezer temperatures where allergens may be present. Work and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing duties, including Drive‑Ups, carryout, etc. Remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shift.
