Details Work in the Step Down/PCU unit of a teaching hospital Cardiac telemetry and progressive care patient population Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week Every other weekend required Floating required within OSU facilities On-call responsibilities required Epic charting system experience required Requirements Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of progressive/step down care experience required Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Teaching hospital experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, and arterial line management Experience with blood product administration and peripheral line care Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care Experience with cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team activation Wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocol experience Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Provide nursing care to cardiac telemetry and progressive care patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response Skilled in isolation precautions and PPE use Required to complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, including travel to an in-state fingerprinting location if outside Ohio Requested time off must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-749160.
