Make a positive impact in the lives of students by supporting them as an American Sign Language Paraprofessional on-site at a school near San Antonio, TX. This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and extends through late May 2027, offering a chance to work closely with students in a vibrant educational environment. You'll work 37.5 hours per week, primarily assisting students at one school but possibly supporting both Highlands High School and Mission Academy, depending on current needs.

What You’ll Bring:

• Associate's degree or higher or at least 48 recognized college semester hours plus completion of a paraeducator course via Stedi.org (with a minimum 70% passing score)
• Experience working with children who have hearing loss, preferably in pediatric or school settings
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Successful completion of fingerprinting and background check
• Proficiency in ASL and a passion for student-centered support
• Collaborative attitude, flexibility, and strong communication skills

Responsibilities Include:

• Deliver direct instructional and communication support to students with hearing loss, facilitating educational access and inclusion
• Assist classroom teachers in creating accessible lesson content and activities
• Adapt learning materials and provide individualized or small group instruction
• Foster positive, encouraging environments that promote student engagement
• Support student development across ages and backgrounds, focusing on both academic and social-emotional growth
• Maintain confidentiality, accurate records, and comply with all school and district procedures
