Warehouse Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

As a Warehouse Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, you will successfully integrate EHS into the functional operation of the facility by implementing systems, processes, and procedures to prevent injuries to our associates and minimize the environmental impact of our operations. This leader will focus on EHS continuous improvement; making incremental improvements that target a world class safety culture.

Job Description

Execute on and maintain company wide EHS initiatives including, but not limited to assigned facility compliance activities. Provide effective solutions to current, and anticipate, the changing business needs.

Actively engage associates of all levels within the assigned facility and perform routine audits and assessments to help prevent incidents from occurring.

Provide local EHS leadership by partnering with operational business functions to enable efficient knowledge transfer of key skills to managers, supervisors and employees.

Thoroughly investigate all incidents including near misses and develop appropriate action plans to mitigate future incidents, and communicate action plans with local operations team members.

Manage and report on established site safety metrics.

Partner in relationships with workers compensation, medical resources, and Corporate EHS to establish systems which provide appropriate care for associates and support the needs of the business.

Review and evaluate the performance of hourly associates to maintain safety standards.

Manage the Zero In - Safety Program and administer training for employees and leadership.

Environment

• Warehouse: Freezer (-20F to 0F)
• Warehouse: Perishable Warehouse (28F to 60F)
• Warehouse: Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F)

Skills

• Microsoft Office applications proficiency.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate complex and detail information verbally via telephone, in person and in writing.
• Ability to operate effectively in a high volume-fast paced, deadline driven work environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, organize and coordinate activities effectively in complex situations.
• High standard of integrity and reliability.

Years Of Experience

• 3-5+ years' experience in Environmental Health & Safety or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, production, or industrial environment preferred.
• Professional certifications in EH&S related fields are considered beneficial and may include CSP, GSP, OHST, ASP, etc. OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
