The Arc of the Quad Cities Area has openings for TWO Residential Supervisors in our group homes!

As a Group Home Supervisor (Residential Supervisor), you will oversee a group home in Rock Island, overseeing 8 individuals. You'll manage daily operations to ensure the home runs smoothly and prioritize residents' needs. This full-time, exempt role requires 40 hours per week, initially Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Candidates must work at least one weekend day or night each month, plus one late-night shift each week, including some evenings and weekends. The salary is $53,248 annually or $2,048 biweekly. The role involves on-call SOC duties and responding to calls outside regular hours.

Flexibility is essential for this role, as the supervisor must be available to handle the home's needs. Candidates should understand that this is not an office-based job ; they will take on diverse roles, including Direct Support Professional (DSP), payroll, scheduling, grocery shopping, and more. Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail are critical. The ability to juggle multiple tasks and set priorities is vital to creating a positive, supportive environment for staff and residents alike. Candidates also need to be comfortable performing DSP duties during absences, training, or emergencies to resolve urgent issues and support residents.

What are the core Job Responsibilities?

• Supervise staff, including training, scheduling, monitoring, evaluating, and disciplining.
• Complete classroom and on-the-job training; evaluate staff performance. This role requires on-call SOC duties and responding to calls from the house outside regular working hours.
• Manage site operations, maintain a positive environment, and ensure cleanliness. Conduct monthly disaster drills.
• Ensure staffing coverage for all shifts, including evenings and weekends. If coverage cannot be arranged, you will be responsible for covering the shift.
• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage by carrying a cell phone as assigned.
• Monitor funds, process purchase orders, and record attendance and billing.
• Review and maintain documentation. Help obtain prior approvals for additional supports, advocate continuously, maintain clinical records in accordance with regulations, address issues proactively, and communicate effectively with all involved.

What are the Qualifications for this position?

• Education: Proof of High School Education is required; a BA or BS in human services is preferred.
• Driving: Valid driver's license in good standing, appropriate auto insurance, and approval by the Agency's auto insurer for driving agency vehicles.
• Strength: Ability to lift at least 50 pounds—to assist in lifting and transferring individuals weighing more than 100 lbs.
• Flexibility: Ability to kneel, bend, and move from standing to floor to assist or care for individuals.
• Standing: Ability to stand/work on feet for 90% or more of the scheduled shift.
• Sitting: Ability to sit periodically during the shift to complete documentation; sitting may be required for less than 5% of the shift.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of direct service experience in human services is required, and one year of supervisory experience is preferred.
• Technology: Knowledge of Microsoft applications preferred. Ability and willingness to learn computer applications as they become required for documentation and overseeing timecards.
• Communication: Ability to perform written documentation clearly, accurately, and completely.
• Certifications: Direct Service Provider certification in Illinois is preferred, or it must be obtained within 120 days of employment.
