Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, call up to 40 hours on a 6-week schedule Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience with hysterectomy, gynecology, total joints, general surgery, bariatric surgery, Davinci Robot, ENT, thoracics, neuro spine, and plastics Description: A professional nurse is an individual accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe effective patient and family-centered care. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes his/her own development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. The RN mentors and precepts staff. The responsibilities include performing assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. The RN collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services. The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization/patient/family. The RN monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs during their stay and at discharge. The RN delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. The RN functions as a mentor and preceptor. The RN demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. The RN identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. The RN participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. The RN complies with regulatory standards. The RN participates in the Practice Governance model.
