Senior Systems Engineer - Aegis BMD | Mount Laurel, NJ

We're hiring a senior systems engineer to join a long-tenured team embedded at a major defense prime's facility in the Mount Laurel, NJ area, supporting Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD). It's a role where you'll work across requirements, V&A, integration, and test. If you love hands‑on systems engineering and are equally comfortable in requirements reviews, verification events, and integration labs, you may want to learn more. You’ll be joining a specialized engineering firm that has been partnered with this customer since 2007 and has specifically supported the Aegis Combat System since 2015. The 36 engineers who are embedded here are treated as an integral part of the team, not as outside vendors managed at arm's length. This team specifically has the lowest turnover of all their work sites, and across the East Coast, not just this location, this company has not had a layoff in 18 years. That’s not a line. Your day‑to‑day will include some combination of the following, depending on the day: Requirements development, decomposition, tracking and validation Verification and validation (V&A) Systems integration and test support ET&T (Environmental Test and Evaluation) Data analysis and problem investigation Working alongside senior technical leads on complex, mission‑critical programs Flexibility in How You Work Real schedule flexibility, as long as it’s planned, consistent, and works for the team you’re supporting: Flex 4/10 — four days a week, ten hours a day Flex 9/80 — nine days over two weeks, every other Friday off Straight 5/8 — five days a week, eight hours a day Practical Stuff Salary: Up to $150K depending on experience Sign‑on bonus available for the right candidate Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) Safe Harbor, PTO, STD/LTD, life insurance, tuition assistance On‑site in the Mount Laurel, NJ area Must‑Haves 5 to 10+ years of systems engineering experience across the full lifecycle — requirements through verification and test Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
