Specimen Processor I Part Time

Part-time specimen processor position at a diagnostic laboratory in Dothan, Alabama. Responsible for preparing, labeling, and routing clinical specimens for testing while maintaining accuracy and meeting production standards in a high-throughput environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and route to appropriate staging areas
• Accurately identify, label, pack and ship specimens to testing facilities
• Enter patient information into systems with accuracy and timeliness
• Properly store excess specimen samples and resolve documentation of problem specimens
• Meet department activity and production goals

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to accurately identify and label specimens
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
