About CRC: Our mission is to help our neighbors create paths to healthy food, stable homes and safe relationships. We do this through a variety of programs including emergency assistance, domestic violence emergency shelter, counseling, housing stability and access to food. Community Resource Center is widely recognized as the primary provider of social services and domestic violence programs in coastal North County San Diego, serving more than 7,200 people each year.

Position Profile:Under the supervision of the CRC ClinicalSupervisor,the Mental Health CliniciansupportsCRCs mission and growth by ensuring that all counseling services provided to clients and families are being implemented through a client- centered,integrativewellness and recovery model that is strength-based, culturally relevant,andconsumer driven.The Mental Health Clinician providesclinical activities & therapeutic services toclientsthat have beenvictims ofabuse, neglect, and other traumatic life eventsusing evidence-basedand evidence-informedpractices with a specialization intraumainformedtreatment.This is a grant-fundedhourly(non-exempt)position.

• Position begins on July 1, 2026
• Compensation: $29.71-$40.00 per hour, depending on licensure, qualifications, and experience. Candidates with clinical licensure and significant relevant experience will be considered at the higher end of the range.

Essential Functionsand Responsibilities:

• Conductintakeinterviews and psychosocial assessments with assigned clients.

• Develop treatment plans, includingappropriate referralstoCRC and other relevantresources/services.

• Provideindividual and grouptherapy to victims oftraumatic life eventsusing evidence-basedor evidence-informed treatment modalities,emphasizingtrauma - informedprinciplesandintegrative mental healthpractice.

• Provide crisis intervention and management asappropriate.

• Ensurethat intakes, treatment plans, progress notes,counselingand group services are scheduled and documentedin a timely manner.

• Maintain thorough andaccurateclient files as required by agency policy, and the laws and regulations governing mental health services.

• Protect client confidentiality following protocols to obtain signed informed consents and authorizations to release information,as required by agency policy and the Health Information Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA).

• Engage in professional development toremain currenton evidence- based/informedtherapeutic interventions for trauma treatment and psychological health promotion strategies.

• Maintain professionallicensureas required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and certification as a Domestic Violence Counselor underCaliforniaEvidence Code.

• Maintain legal andethical standardsof careas outlinedbyCaliforniaBoard of Behavioral Sciences and professionalclinicalguilds.

• Contribute to the development and maintenanceof client sensitive policies and procedures supporting trauma-informed counseling services.

• Participate in weeklygroup clinical supervisionand individual supervision as appropriate.

• Otherdutiesas assigned.

Requirements:

• Unrestricted Californialicenseas an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC preferred; associates registered with the California BBS will also be considered.

• Completionof40-hourCalifornia state approved Domestic Violence trainingwithin90 daysof employment.

• Minimum of one year ofexperience providing counseling services inanonprofit setting.

• Demonstrated knowledge ofthe impact ofphysical,sexual,and emotional abuse and other adverse experiences on aclients functioning.

• Experience providing mental health treatment services tosurvivorsof traumatic life events.

• Ability tocollaboratewith clients and staff of varied backgrounds, educational levels, and ethnicand religiousorigins; mustdemonstratean acceptance and respect for cultural diversity in all its forms, including ethnicity, sexual orientation, abilities, and religious backgrounds.

Skills:

• Strong written andverbalcommunication skills, listening skills, anda demonstratedability to foster a supportive environment for clients.

• Strong interpersonal skills and clear professional boundaries.

• Computer competence with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Demonstrated ability to use electronic information managementsystemto document client services.

Physical requirements:

• Primarily sedentary with intermittent standing, walking,bendingand stair climbing.

• Occasional light lifting andcarrying ofobjects weighing up to 25lbs.

• Ability to work in a standard office environment at a computer, including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse.
