Job Title: ICU RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 11.5 Experience: Minimum of 3 years ICU experience License: RN License to practice in the applicable state Certifications: ACLS BLS PALS Must-Have: - BSN or higher degree from an accredited nursing school - Efficient in managing patients with EVD and multiple medication drips - Familiar with the use of EMR Description: The ICU RN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must possess a BSN or higher degree from an accredited nursing school. An active RN License to practice in the applicable state is required. A minimum of 3 years of ICU experience is preferred. Certifications required to start include ACLS, BLS, and PALS. Preferred but not required certifications include CCRN and TNCC. Candidates should be efficient in managing trauma patients of varying severities. They should conduct assessments using CAM, CPOT, and RASS. Experience in the care of patients undergoing hypothermia treatment is essential. Knowledge of pleurevac chest tube drainage is also necessary. Familiarity with PCA pumps and strict isolation precautions is required. Candidates must observe hand hygiene protocols. Adherence to critical care practices is crucial. Nurses will be required to float as needed. Additional duties may include working weekends and holidays as necessary.
