Duties
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to load and unload shipments.
- Perform inventory management tasks including barcode scanning for logistics accuracy and updating warehouse management systems.
- Assist with order picking and order fulfillment activities to ensure timely dispatch of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment by properly stacking pallets and materials.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
- Follow all forklift safety protocols and OSHA standards to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks manually when necessary while adhering to manual handling safety procedures.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts and improve workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, or similar equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology for logistics.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, inventory control, and distribution processes.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and order accuracy.
- Experience with equipment repair or basic maintenance is a plus.
- Excellent manual handling skills with attention to safety protocols during heavy lifting tasks.
- Prior experience in warehouse supervision or leadership roles is advantageous but not required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
