Research Associate (Protein Biology)

Ten63 Therapeutics is focused on improving human health by developing better, more durable therapeutics against cancer and some of the world's most lethal diseases. We embrace diversity and are committed towards inclusion. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Research Associate to join Ten63's Biology team. You will be part of a multi-functional lab-based Biology team working side-by-side to tackle challenging drug discovery projects. You will purify previously undruggable proteins and assess the activity of novel small molecules via a variety of techniques. You will support and collaborate in a hands-on way the Senior Scientists in the lab to advance Ten63's goal of discovering and developing novel small molecule therapeutics to change the treatment of cancer. Responsibilities Support the Protein Sciences team by expressing and purifying disease-relevant proteins Employ established assays to test and report the activity of novel small molecules Document and communicate results clearly to project teams Collaborate effectively with other members of the Biology team to meet dynamic project goals Qualifications Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related area, with 2+ years of lab experience. Experience in lab skills including buffer and media preparation, bacterial culture, plasmid purifications, PCR, gel electrophoresis, chromatography, and protein expression and purification are essential. Direct experience with AKTA systems required. Familiarity with biophysical and biochemical assays including fluorescence polarization and TR-FRET would be ideal. A strong positive attitude, great communication skills, excellent attention to detail and record keeping, and an ability to follow established lab protocols are important.
