We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, primarily focusing on preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality Indian/Halal dishes while adhering to established recipes and standards.

Essential Functions

• Assist the head chef in managing kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.

• Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with established recipes and plating guidelines.

• Manage food storage, inventory control, and waste management, keeping an organized and clean kitchen.

• Collaborate with the kitchen team to deliver high-quality Indian/Halal dishes consistently.

• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and maintaining safety and hygiene standards.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of culinary trends, especially in Indian/Halal cuisine, to enhance menu offerings.

• Ensure that all food is prepared in compliance with Halal dietary requirements and local regulations.

• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef/Executive Chef.

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong background in Indian cuisine and knowledge of Halal food preparation methods.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a similar role.

• A degree or diploma in culinary arts, or equivalent professional experience.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Good organizational and time management skills.

• Strong attention to detail and creativity in food presentation.

• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, and this position will routinely use standard office equipment.
