Summary: The successful Director of Donated Goods Retail will be a highly energetic, positive leader that brings a blend of strategic leadership, hands on support, and active participation in problem solving to achieve goals. Responsible for employees across multiple stores with direct reports at the store manager or department level. Responsible for all aspects of the retail locations across the district, cultivation of a support and development environment, execution of consistent operational standards for all stores, and ensuring all team members have the supervision, training and tools needed to safely meet operational and personal goals.
Essential Duties:
- Create a culture of accountability
- Hire, manage, motivate, coach, develop and empower a team to maximize their skills and results through daily operational excellence.
- Ensuring operational efficiency in each department.
- Ensure that production goals are met, team members have the resources and tools to work effectively, and that each flow of product from donation door to store floor moves efficiently.
- Ensuring that the stores under supervision adhere to organization and industry regulations.
- Ensuring that all stores meet safety and cleanliness standards.
- Maintaining standards of loss prevention through regular assessment of activities surrounding cash handling, drawer counts, voids, etc.
- Assisting with strategic planning in development of retail expansion plan.
- Develop and implement with Strategic Marketing Plan annually.
- Conducting on site audits of each store to ensure standards are met.
- Managing district budget and ensuring that each store operates within the budget.
- Monitoring each store or department’s financial performance on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Creating reports on sales and other key performance indicators and present to organization leaders.
- Ensuring that customer service levels are consistent across stores.
- Making recommendations to senior management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by CEO.
Essential Skills:

- Proven ability to create a strong and collaborative environment, foster peer relationships and expand capabilities across all locations within your district.
- Quantitative aptitude and experience managing budgets.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic computer operation skills.
- Leadership and decision-making ability.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Requirements:

- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Four-year college degree in business management, operations, marketing, or related field or a minimum five years relevant experience
- Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Work Environment:
Office environment with fluorescent lighting and climate-controlled temperature. Occasional to frequent exposure to dust, lint, and other irritants generated by the sorting and handling of donated goods. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Occasional nontraditional (nights and weekends) hours. Some instances of short deadlines and fast paced situations or demands. Frequent travel within territory and occasional travel for training or buying.
