Compounding Pharmacy Technician II

Job Description Summary Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the compounding technician II works in a clean room compounding medication at least 50% of the time to help ensure safe, accurate, and smooth compounding operations. Job Responsibilities Prescription Compounding, Preparation, & Processing Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures and state regulations & standards. Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded. Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages. Assists with ensuring quality standards by reviewing and inspecting compounded and packaged medications. Ensures all compounding and packaging is inspected and approved by a licensed pharmacist. Site & Supplies/Equipment Maintenance Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized. Calibrates equipment to ensure accurate functioning. Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs. Training & Mentoring Trains and mentors Compounding Technician I's. Qualifications Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state). Basic Qualifications Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction. Ability to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations. Excellent organizational skills. Basic level skill in Microsoft Word. Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel. Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint. Physical Demand Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching. Ability to carry at least 30 lbs. Travel Requirements None Preferred Qualifications & Interests Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience preferred. May perform other duties as assigned. Compensation Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Pay Range is $21.55–$35.92.
