Retail Sales Associate

Compensation and Benefits $11.50 to $14.50 per hour Commission structure: earn up to 8% on transactions, potentially averaging an additional $3.26 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Additionally, potential to earn 2-8% commission on pawn and retail sales. Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Supplemental, and other voluntary options (eligibility required). Vacation: One week of paid vacation after six months of full‑time service; additional week after one year, and two weeks on each anniversary thereafter (up to 120 hours after five years) (subject to state/local requirements). Position Summary Entry‑level, full‑time sales associates work in pawn store locations nationwide. The associate partners with the store staff to provide customer service on both lending and retail sides, greeting and engaging customers, processing sales, loans, and other transactions. The role may involve handling jewelry, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and other merchandise. Responsibilities Greet and interact with all customers to build rapport and recommend solutions. Perform open/close procedures. Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and merchandise displays. Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Handle cash and negotiable items per policy. Answer incoming calls per company standards. Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers. Work with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience. Complete assigned training. Other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications Willingness and ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform tasks for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting; comply with federal, state, and local law. Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification. Ability to assist customers outside the building and retrieve products from external locations. Minimum age 18 years. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented. Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Proficient in basic math calculations. Cash handling experience preferred. Willingness to work multiple locations as business needs dictate. Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays. Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines. Additional Details Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Commission incentive plan is proprietary to FirstCash. Pawnbrokers may earn 2-8% commission based on gross profit of personal performance. Detailed information will be provided during interview. Pay rates will not be below any applicable local minimum wage requirements. Maximum base pay rate is derived from the applicant’s previous experience and skill sets applicable to the specific position.
