Transportation Associate

Responsibilities Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations, enforcing safety measures for all personnel who operate vehicles on behalf of Amazon and vendors who enter the yard. Perform various functions within the yard to support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers, ensuring all trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects. Operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‑public roads or in the yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations. Learn Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and comply with company policies regarding size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting, break periods, and other requirements. Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues encountered. Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks at appropriate times in compliance with Amazon policy and federal and state regulations, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive in accordance with weather and road conditions. Support the business as needed by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby site locations within the area. Drive, maneuver, and load/unload trailers using approved equipment (e.g., pallet jack). Basic Qualifications Hold a valid and active driver’s license. High school or equivalent diploma. Be 21 years of age or older. Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach, and ascend/descend stairs. Work 40 hours per week with the possibility of overtime. Work a flexible schedule/shift/area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Understand and adhere to all job requirement and safety guidelines in English. Preferred Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences. Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors. A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or completion of a Career Choice CDL course. Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications. Ability to follow and enforce safety measures and policies for all vehicle operators and yard entrants.
