Physical Therapist (PT), Per Diem Day Shift, Acute Care Therapy

Shady Grove Medical Center – Physical Therapist (Acute Care Therapy) Shady Grove Medical Center seeks an experienced Physical Therapist to join our Acute Care Therapy team, extending physical, mental, and spiritual healing to patients. The role embraces our mission and supports patients through assessment, intervention, and discharge planning. Responsibilities Perform initial examinations and evaluations to establish impairment, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care before intervention in acute or outpatient settings. Provide or direct and supervise therapy interventions consistent with the examination results, involving patients and other team members in planning, implementation, and assessment of care. Reevaluate patients during the episode of care to assess progress, modify or discontinue care as needed, and coordinate discharge planning with multidisciplinary teams. Communicate, coordinate, and document all aspects of patient management, including examination findings, interventions, and progress, with care team members. Supervise and direct the activities of assigned rehab aides, office assistants, and volunteers. Manage schedule to accommodate patient census and inform management of caseload issues. Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status using medical records or other tools. Engage in individual professional development activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Preferred experience of at least one year on a specific site. Active Maryland license. Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Work Schedule Employment Type: Per Diem Rate: $60 per hour Hours per week: 8 hours Typical daily schedule: minimum of 2 weekend days per month Shift type: Day Weekend requirement: 2 weekend days per month Holiday requirements: follow department holiday schedule Compensation Per Diem rate of $60 per hour.
