Registered Nurse – Kidney Transplant Clinic (ICU)

Location

San Antonio, Texas

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | No weekends, no on-call, no holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Triage post-kidney transplant patient calls and manage high call volumes efficiently
• Order, review, and escalate lab results as clinically indicated
• Schedule diagnostic testing and transplant-related procedures such as biopsies and diagnostic exams
• Enter electronic prescriptions and perform clinic preparation duties
• Conduct patient assessments as needed within the outpatient post-transplant clinic setting
• Document accurately using transplant-specific EMR systems

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
• Critical thinking ability in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with patient triage, particularly in an outpatient or transplant setting
• Comfortable working with high call volumes
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR or transplant-specific documentation platforms
