Wildlife Management Activities

Plan, coordinate and conduct wildlife management activities consistent with program objectives.

Assist in providing professional support to project staff in developing and implementing the wildlife management sections of the Project Operational Management Plans (OPMs).

Review Annual Work Plans submitted by projects to ensure consistency with the Project Operational Management Plans (OPMs).

Provide technical assistance to the projects in planning and conducting various wildlife management programs.

Prepare periodic and special reports to include quarterly management and expenditure, nesting box utilization, and the status of wildlife populations and habitats, including federally listed Endangered Species and Species of Concern.

Collect and analyze field data.

Maintain computerized files for wildlife management program.

Plan and coordinate special training sessions for project wildlife coordinators, as required.

Routinely oversee student interns and other employees in conducting various wildlife management activities.

Plan and conduct inventories and surveys to collect basic biological information.

Coordinate wildlife management activities and programs with representatives of other federal and state agencies having licenses or leases on Corps lands and waters in Willamette Valley Projects.

Develop educational programs for the general public in the form of brochures, slide presentations and interpretive displays.
