Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a 13-week assignment in the emergency department. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

Location: Corpus Christi, TX
Number of Beds: 12
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 5-7 RNs, 1 ER Tech (11a-11p), 1 Unit Secretary (9a-5p, M-F)
- Night Shift: 5-6 RNs, 1 ER Tech (11a-11p), 1 Unit Secretary (5p-1a, M-F)
Patient Ratios: 4:1
Electronic Medical Records (EMR): [System details not specified]

Qualifications

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Preferred Skills:
- Strong experience in Neuro and Cardiac care
- Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment

Typical Procedures Performed

STEMI management
Stroke treatment, including TPA administration
RSI (Rapid Sequence Intubation)

Dress Code

Preferred scrub color is royal blue, but it is not mandatory. Please refrain from wearing any competitor emblems.

Notable achievement: 12-minute door to needle time for TPA administration
Acknowledged for the fastest bed assignment time in the Gulf Coast Division
