Automatic enrollment into Colorado PERA retirement plan Health, dental, vision and life insurance benefits EmployeeAssistance Program Benefits as per district policyPosition Title: CustodianDepartment: FacilitiesReports to: Head Custodian/ Facilities Manager/ Director of OperationsGeneral Purpose: Responsible for housekeeping, security, maintenance and sanitation of assigned building, grounds and equipmentDuties/ResponsibilitiesDaily inspection of classrooms, cafeteria, restrooms, locker rooms, break rooms, work rooms, hallways, stairs, office areas, etc. Clean and maintain as assigned by the head custodian using the following methods: Sweep, dust, disinfect and sanitize, mop, scrub, vacuum, empty trash and garbage containersSet up for school programs, meetings, assemblies, special events and after-hours functions as requested by supervisorOperation of assigned custodial equipmentAssure building security by locking/unlocking doors at appropriate times, recognizing unsafe security conditions and correcting condition or reporting condition to appropriate personnelNotify the head custodian of needed repairs and or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilation equipmentLearn and use district adopted technologies (e.g. word processing, the internet, e-mail, voice-mail, etc.) to manage data, and to communicate with the other personnel, as pertinent to the responsibilities of the positionPerform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s)Such alternatives to the above duties as the administration may find appropriate and acceptableSupervisory DutiesNoneJob QualificationsKnowledge, skill & ability:Must be able to speak, read and understand EnglishMust have ability to work without direct supervisionMust have a general knowledge of all cleaning and floor care suppliesEducation or formal training:High school diploma or a GED, preferredExperience:NoneMaterial and equipment directly used:Vacuum sweepers and various other custodial tools and equipmentMust work with computersMust work with a variety of chemicals used for cleaning/maintenanceThis is not an all inclusive listWorking environment/physical activities:Daily routine includes lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, wiping, etc.Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds at distances up to 100 feetMust be able to lift 75 pounds from floor to waist and waist to shoulderMust be able to work in a variety of temperaturesDress appropriately for safety and sanitation dutiesDaily work outdoorsTerms of Employment:Primary work is afternoon/eveningMay be asked to work some weekendsSchool District Comprehensive Benefits – please refer to Board Policies, current pay schedule and, benefits packetTypically 8 hours per day for 257 days per fiscal year or as assigned on work scheduleThis position is that of an "at will? employee.
