Overview

Riverside Health is a non‑profit, integrated health network serving Eastern Virginia. We operate several acute‑care hospitals, specialty centers, and community health programs. We are looking for a full‑time Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team at Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical professional coverage on reasonable schedules prepared by RMG and by the Practice.
• Provide care for all patients assigned during scheduled coverage periods.
• Complete unfinished emergency treatment when coverage ends or arrange hand‑off to a succeeding physician.
• Document patient history, physical examination, laboratory reports, imaging interpretations, diagnoses, and disposition instructions.
• Participate in business management of the Practice, including human resources, financial planning, budgeting, billing, and committee assignments.
• Work under the direction of the RMG Administration and Board of Directors to maintain financial viability and meet established financial goals.
• Comply with the American Medical Association ethics principles, federal, state, and municipal laws, Joint Commission standards, and all RMG policies, regulations, and the RMG Physician Compact.
• Actively participate in provider recruitment, interviewing, and after‑hours events.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• 1–3 years successful completion of residency or demonstrated experience in Emergency Medicine.
• Physician license (MD/DO) issued by the Virginia Board of Medicine.
• Valid DEA registration for controlled substances.
• Proficiency in the approved methods and techniques of Emergency Medicine.
