Remote Tax Accountant / Specialist - AI Trainer ($80-$120 per hour)

$93,000.00 yearly Full-time We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our Tax Accounting team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role is responsible for tax accounting and compliance, technical tax research, planning, audits, and other tax-related initiatives. In this position, you will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to analyze business activities, ensure proper tax treatment, and support strategic decision-making. This is a hybrid position based out of our Kansas City, MO office. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Tax Accounting & Compliance: Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including related financial statement disclosures. Manage preparation of federal, state, local, and international tax filings. Calculate and prepare estimated tax payments and extensions. Maintain a compliance calendar to ensure all filings are completed accurately and on time. Support tax audits, notices, and information requests. Partner with external tax advisors on domestic and international compliance and consulting matters. Identify opportunities to enhance tax processes and drive continuous improvement. Develop and maintain documented internal controls over tax processes. Contribute to tax planning initiatives and evaluate positions to optimize outcomes. Tax Research & Projects: Research and interpret tax laws, regulations, and rulings; clearly communicate conclusions and recommendations. Stay current on tax developments and assess the impact of new legislation on the business. Evaluate tax implications of business initiatives and advise internal stakeholders accordingly. Support special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed. What You Bring to the Team (Required) Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA required. 2+ years of experience in corporate tax (public accounting and/or industry), including domestic tax experience across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. Strong knowledge of income tax accounting, including ASC 740. Advanced Excel skills and overall proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams. Self-starter who can manage priorities independently while collaborating effectively.
