Job Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Specialty: RRT

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day

Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00)

Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience

License: Valid Washington license required

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (preferred), PALS

Must-Have:

PALS and ACLS certifications required

Washington license in hand

Description:

Position will float between units: No

On-call required: No

Weekends required: Yes, rotating weekends

Block schedules required: Yes

Expected patient ratios vary

Patient demographics include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics

Common responsibilities include incentive spirometry, ventilator management, emergency department tasks, and more

Additional procedures may include C-sections, difficult deliveries, conscious sedations, and blood gas interpretation

Therapists should have experience with adult critical care and aerosol setup

Equipment used may include BiPAP, CPAP, and various inhaled medications

Interdisciplinary support provided by physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, and other departments

Preferred experience with pediatric and neonatal care

Daily census of approximately 60 visits per day

Facility characteristics include being a short-term acute care and level III trauma center with a total of 104 staffed beds

All travelers should be prepared to float within the facility

References are required covering the last year of experience
