Job Details Location: Calif Chicken Cafe – Beverly Grove – Los Angeles, CA 90048 Position: Shift Leader | Employment Type: Full Time | Department: Leadership | Reports to: General Manager Salary: Starting at $24.00 per hour Key Areas of Responsibilities General: Assist in overseeing and managing all areas of the restaurant and make real‑time decisions to ensure an excellent dining experience and successful operation. Maintain an accurate staffing plan. Guest Service and Hospitality: Ensure positive guest service; assess and respond to complaints and suggestions, turning dissatisfied guests into raving fans. Food Safety and Planning: Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances. Ensure staff consistently produce high‑quality food and service. Maintain a professional restaurant image, including cleanliness and appearance standards. Supervise portion control and minimize waste; work closely with Kitchen Supervisor. Estimate food needs, place accurate orders with vendors, and ensure timely deliveries. Financial: Ensure staff adherence to standards to increase sales and minimize costs (food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor). Work with management to meet or exceed targeted financial metrics. Qualifications High School Diploma required. Must be 21 years of age or older. 2+ years of experience in a high-volume quick‑service restaurant. Proficient in food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, and restaurant safety. Passionate about food and hospitality. Basic computer knowledge. Basic math skills; able to work a cash register or POS system. Humility – willing to learn from all team members and understand the brand. Empathy – build relationships with team and guests to reinforce brand identity. Must enjoy and succeed in a fast‑paced environment. Must pass Food Handlers course and test in compliance with California state law. Must be able to transfer to another Calif Chicken Café location within a 50‑mile radius. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Physical Requirements Requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, twisting, climbing, lifting/carrying up to 25lbs, constant gripping, and moving for 8‑10hr shifts, up to 6 shifts per week; occasional sitting. Work Conditions & Hours Hours vary with business necessity, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, steam, smoke, heat and hazardous equipment. No off‑the‑clock work; off‑schedule calls or texts must be reported to HR.
