– Perform a variety of general laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, including routine and specialized assays.

– Conduct clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance activities, and instrument maintenance to ensure accurate and reliable test results.

– Recognize test inconsistencies, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective actions in accordance with established protocols.

– Call critical test results to physicians or nurses immediately, following protocol, and prepare clear, legible test reports.

– Document all laboratory activities, including quality control tests, instrument checks, and preventive maintenance routines.

– Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with co-workers, patients, and visitors.

– Assist with specimen collection and processing as needed, ensuring adherence to policies and safety practices.

– Participate in departmental meetings, in-service trainings, and on-call schedules requiring prompt response.

– Support departmental inventory control, requisition of supplies, and quality assurance initiatives.

– Lead or coordinate educational activities and contribute to overall laboratory functions.

– Associate Degree in Medical Technology or a related field.

– Familiarity with Vitros testing systems.

– Strong mathematical skills for data analysis and quality control.

– Excellent reasoning, reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills in English.

– Ability to perform clinical laboratory procedures accurately and efficiently.

– Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high standards of courtesy and cooperation.

– Dependability and responsibility in a hospital or clinical environment.

– Ability to work effectively under stress and prioritize tasks.

– ASCP certification or an equivalent nationally recognized Medical Technology certification is required within one year of hire.

– Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification must be obtained within six months of employment.

– Prior experience with laboratory quality assurance programs and instrument troubleshooting is preferred.

– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

– Willingness to participate in department on-call schedules that require a 30-minute response time.

– Educational background and reasoning skills at a college level.

– Availability to work in a clinical laboratory setting in the region.
