Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on the Med Surg unit, following the nursing process
- Assess patient status, develop and implement care plans, administer medications and treatments, and monitor outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth transitions
- Document interventions and patient responses in the EPIC electronic medical record
- Deliver patient and family education and contribute to discharge planning
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and pain management; adjust care as patients’ conditions evolve

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required at time of hire
- Demonstrated competency in dysrhythmia recognition during Orientation (for all departments except Obstetrics and NICU)
- IV Sedation competency within 6 months of hire
- Perinatal requirements may apply if assignment includes Labor & Delivery or NICU: Neonatal Resuscitation within 6 months, and related fetal monitoring competencies as applicable
- Education: BSN preferred; Acute care facility experience preferred
- Minimum of two years of recent nursing experience in the field
- Ability to work the listed shift and in a short-term travel assignment
