Vice President, Global Government Affairs

The Carlyle Group is looking for a Vice President of Global Government Affairs to enhance its relationships with government entities worldwide. This role involves shaping the firm’s legislative and regulatory strategies while working closely with portfolio companies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in government relations and a strong understanding of the political landscape. What You’ll Do Support the Head of Global Government Affairs in shaping Carlyle’s agenda. Anticipate political and economic issues that could impact the firm. Create strategies to enhance Carlyle’s reputation globally. Work with portfolio companies on their government affairs strategies. Build and maintain relationships with key government officials. Engage with trade organizations to influence public policy. What You Need Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree like JD or MBA is a plus. 10+ years in government relations, ideally with a multinational company or in Congress. Experience in international relations is a bonus. Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory issues. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to build bipartisan relationships.
