Job Description Medix is seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist for a contract travel assignment supporting a premier healthcare facility in Stoughton, MA. In this role, you will work alongside a collaborative clinical team to deliver specialized, high-acuity respiratory care to an adult patient population. Following a brief 2-day orientation, the ideal candidate must be prepared to hit the ground running, independently manage high-volume adult workloads, and occasionally provide sole overnight respiratory coverage for the facility. Core Responsibilities Provide comprehensive, adult-only (18+) respiratory care in a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) environment with a typical patient caseload of 27-33 (up to 40). Clinically perform intubations, manage mechanical ventilators, draw and analyze Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), perform EKGs, and assist physicians with bedside bronchoscopies. Lead and run effective resuscitation codes independently in the event an on-site physician is not present overnight. Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot advanced clinical equipment, including Dräger Savina 300 ventilators, Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators, Respironics V60 non-invasive support, and High-Flow systems (Airvo/Optiflow). Administer standard therapeutic respiratory modalities for long-term acute patients. Required Qualifications License: Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist License. Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Experience: Strong, recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or critical care background. Clinical Skills: Demonstrated ability to independently intubate, manage vents, perform ABGs and EKGs, and lead code responses without an on-site physician. Patient Scope: Experience with and commitment to caring strictly for adult populations (18+). Preferred Qualifications Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred (Certified Respiratory Therapist [CRT] with strong critical care experience welcomed).
