Job Overview:
The Director of Sales, Marketing, and Applications Engineering will report directly to the President and CEO. This role is responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, providing technical support to a global customer base, and leading the recruitment, development, and management of the sales and marketing team. The position requires a proactive, energetic leader with a strong background in industrial equipment, diesel and/or gas engine markets, and international experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and coordination of sales, marketing, and application/product support engineering functions.
• Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies, monitoring and analyzing activities against established goals.
• Supervise and manage the sales and marketing team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Coordinate sales and marketing functions across departments and functions within the company.
• Identify market potential and develop strategies to achieve sales objectives and KPIs.
• Direct and oversee the sales function to identify and develop new customers/markets and maintain relationships with key customers.
• Research and develop strategies for marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project development.
• Implement pricing strategies, discounts, and project quotations.
• Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales methods, costs, and results.
• Directly manage major client accounts and oversee all other accounts.
• Negotiate and secure customer approval for project scope changes and contract modifications.
• Participate in the development of new project proposals and product costing.
• Plan and conduct customer and distributor training programs.
• Deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations, and equipment installations.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support customer requirements, including distributor visits, trade shows, and troubleshooting installations (approximately 10% travel).
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in structuring sales goals and revenue expectations.
• Experience in planning marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
• International experience is strongly encouraged.
• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes.
• Proactive, energetic self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize activities to meet deadlines and goals.
• Relevant industry knowledge of industrial equipment, diesel, and/or gas engine markets is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills—clear and concise.
• Strong presentation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain visas for international travel as required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in business and/or engineering or 10+ years in a similar position.
• Experience in the engine controls or power generation industry is a must.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are desirable.

Physical Demands:

• Regular standing, walking, and ability to ascend/descend stairs.
• Capability to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently and carry up to 10 lbs. while traversing stairs.
• Stamina for short and long-distance travel.
• Visual precision to inspect objects closely, judge distances accurately, and distinguish colors.

Pay Range $90K–$120K 

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
