PATIENT CARE TECH Surgery , Full Time, Varied

Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and/or Department Manager, Patient Care Tech is a member of the Preoperative team and monitors all patients in the Surgery Department. The role supports procuring equipment, room set‑up, turnover, patient transports and transfers, resupply for sterile and unsterile supplies, equipment, and other duties as directed. The position projects a positive public image and is self‑motivated, courteous, and professional. Qualifications Ability to read, speak, and write English for communication and charting purposes, write reports, and present information to managers, patients, and the general public. Ability to apply, measure, and understand electrical impulse timing, and use the appropriate tools. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, work under supervision, and follow instructions. Pleasant telephone manners; neat and legible handwriting. Minimum of one year prior Patient Care Tech experience in a health care setting preferred, with thorough computer skills and proper telephone and interpersonal skills. High school diploma or equivalent. Medical terminology course preferred; computer education preferred. Current BLS certification. CPI certification required within 30 days of hire.
