Position Summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Operations Manager to perform and oversee highway maintenance/ repairs operations based in Dania Beach, FL area. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, including but not limited to structure maintenance and repair, bridge maintenance and repair, pavement repairs consisting of full depth and partial depth, guardrail repair, and more. Adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen company policies and procedures. Salary: Depends on experience, licenses, and certifications. Schedule: Full time; Must be flexible and work varying schedules including nights and weekends if needed. Required Experience:Minimum of five (5) years of industry related experienceBasic knowledge Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Earth StrongLeadership qualities; must have experience in overseeing, directing and leading construction crews.Strong organizational skills for scheduling & work planning as well as oversight of maintenance crews to ensure work execution/completionMust have Traffic Control experienceFull depth concrete pavement repairsPreferred Experience:Bilingual (English/Spanish)Experience with projects using FDOT standard specificationsCDL AClean driving record is essential Must pass criminal background check Summary of Major Responsibilities:Oversee day-to-day operations, including understanding scope of services, contract requirements, organizational structure, staffing, work plans, budgets, fleet management, vendor management, reporting, inventory, quality control, training, and continuous improvementManage key financial indicators along with Regional Manager; demonstrate improvement against budget and prior periodsLead by example, ensuring professionalism, responsiveness, and quality in all business conduct, and instill these values throughout the organizationCollaborate with Project & Regional Managers to address client issues, develop action plans, and enhance operational efficiencyRecruit, develop, retain, and reward talented workforce, while ensuring compliance with standards and specificationsConduct career evaluations for direct reports and field staffResponsible weekly planning and scheduling of workQualifications:High School Diploma/GEDMaintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)Operating and maintaining company vehicles and equipmentKnowledge of local driving rules and regulationsCarry out arithmetic functionsMaintain proper safety equipment required for each jobKnowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technologyAbility to use smart phone and applicationsAbility to adjust to changing work scheduleAbility to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditionsCapable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be requiredAbility to operate hand/power toolsTotal Compensation Package to include: FREE PPE!
