Registered Nurse - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift: 19:00 - 07:00, Full-Time, Nights

The competent Nurse, in a clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, continually developing the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing while making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers.

Responsibilities:

• Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license required.
• BLS Certification via AHA required.
