Registered Nurse - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift: 20:00 - 08:00, with weekend requirements of 6 days per 6 weeks schedule period.

The competent nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. They provide routine and complex care, with the ability to manage long-range goals or plans while continuously developing the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates competencies according to One CHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Adds perception to increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS certification (AHA only) is required.
• Current ACLS certification (AHA only) is required.
• Current PALS certification (AHA only) is required.
• Current TNCC certification is required.
• Must have a valid RN license in the state of Texas or compact.
