Senior Buyer
OneSparQ
OneSparQ is looking for a Senior Buyer for a military and defense manufacturer in Whippany, NJ.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in buying or purchasing manufacturing components
- Experience buying or purchasing in the military, defense, medical or aerospace industry
- Strong understanding of ERP systems
- Proficient in Excel
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business
Additional Skills: (not required)
- Experience improving buying / purchasing processes
Responsibilities:
- Manage purchasing of machined components and complex assemblies in a high-pressure manufacturing environment
- Negotiate pricing, price breaks, long-term agreements, lead times, and priority commitments with suppliers
- Monitor purchasing performance including PPV, supplier delivery, material availability, and cost savings opportunities
- Build strong supplier relationships and proactively resolve shortages, delivery issues, and production constraints
- Manage purchasing activities through ERP systems while maintaining accurate supplier, pricing, and order information
- Identify and implement improvements to purchasing processes, supplier performance, and overall procurement efficiency
