Production Associate

As a production associate, you will operate and maintain the scale booth, weigh trucks as they arrive and leave the yard with loads of scrap metal, and record weights into the computer system. You will also provide customer service, direct truck drivers to appropriate locations, and handle payments for customers by writing checks or issuing prepaid debit cards. The role primarily involves working inside the scale booth, but occasional exposure to outside elements is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the scale booth.

• Use touch screen computer systems for weighing and paying.

Work Environment

The primary work location is inside the scale booth, with occasional exposure to outside elements such as rain, heat, and cold. You may encounter loud noises and fumes from heavy equipment and metal recycling machinery. The scrapyard can be dusty and may expose you to dirt. Regular working hours are from 9am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.

This is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
