Supply Chain Quality EngineerThe Supply Chain Quality Engineer is a mid-level individual contributor responsible for coordinating and supporting quality activities across the supply chain, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), inspections, investigations, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), First Article Inspections (FAIs), Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), and supplier-related issues.This role works closely with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, resolve quality concerns, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, this position supports internal Quality Management System (QMS) audits and ongoing compliance activities. The position reports to the Supply Chain Quality Manager / QMS Systems Manager.Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMMinimal travel (approximately 10%) for supplier audits and supportPrimarily office-based with frequent presence on the shop floorPPE required when working in production areasRoles and ResponsibilitiesSupport supplier approval processes and ongoing supplier performance monitoringSupport supplier audits, as neededConduct supplier audits (on-site and remote), including process, product, and system auditsConduct internal Quality Management System (QMS) audits as requiredSupport internal audit activities, including documentation and corrective action follow-upFacilitate Supply Chain Quality Review Board (QRB) meetingsCoordinate containment of nonconforming material in stock and work-in-process (WIP)Develop and implement Inspection Containment Actions (ICA), Corrective and Containment Actions (CCA), and Standard Inspection Plans (SIP)Lead and support root cause investigations using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys)Create and manage Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and related quality documentation in QCBD or similar systemsProvide real-time shop floor support for quality investigations and issue resolutionAnalyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunitiesDevelop clear reporting (charts, dashboards, and summaries) to support decision-makingApply and monitor key quality metrics, including DPU and PPMCollaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to drive corrective actions and process improvementsSuccess MetricsReduction in supplier-related defects (PPM/DPU)Timely and effective closure of NCRs and RCCAsImproved supplier audit outcomes and performanceReduction in repeat nonconformancesAccurate and actionable quality reportingTimely completion of assigned audit activities and corrective action follow-upRequired Qualifications2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospaceWorking knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9102Experience with dimensional inspection and measurement equipmentExperience supporting or participating in internal auditsProficiency in GD&TExperience working on cross-functional teamsStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present dataProficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointPreferred QualificationsSupplier Quality experienceFamiliarity with Nadcap and special processesExperience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)Experience with Power Query or advanced Excel toolsExperience with CMM, CATIA, Verisurf, or Romer ArmCore CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilityEffective communication skills, including supplier interactionAbility to influence cross-functional teams and support continuous improvement effortsDetail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentAbility to identify compliance gaps and improvement opportunities within quality processesTechnical SkillsMicrosoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint required)Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systemsExperience with quality documentation systems (e.g., QCBD or similar)Mathematical AbilityAbility to apply concepts of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
