Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with infectious, renal, and neurological conditions.

• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans based on residents’ clinical needs.

• Review laboratory results, diagnostic studies, medications, and treatment responses.

• Provide consultation and clinical recommendations to nursing and medical staff.

• Manage infections, antibiotic therapy, chronic kidney disease, and related renal conditions.

• Evaluate and manage neurological conditions and changes in residents’ cognitive or functional status.

• Coordinate specialty care, dialysis, diagnostic testing, and outside medical services when appropriate.

• Collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, rehabilitation, primary care providers, and other specialists.

• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and changes in condition with residents and families.

• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement activities.

• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.

• Support infection prevention and control practices throughout the facility.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

• Current, unrestricted medical license in the applicable state.

• Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Neurology, or a related specialty.

• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, post-acute, hospital, or geriatric care preferred.

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of complex medical conditions, infection control, renal disease, and neurological disorders.

• Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, and resident-centered care.
