Position Details Instructor – Health & Physical Education (Reg FT) Employment Type: Regular Full-Time Department: College Campus: Boyce Campus Salary: $46,781 – $52,940 (10-month teaching positions, rank determined by collective bargaining agreement) Remote Work Option: Fully In-Person Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (additional evening/weekend hours may be required) General Summary The primary responsibilities of faculty are to teach and develop the curriculum. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education or related field for activity classes (master’s preferred for lecture classes). Teaching experience required for lecture classes; preferred for activity classes. Current CPR and AED certifications required for all instructors. Certification to teach Health and Physical Education preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Educational pedagogy Course Management System (e.g., Blackboard) Microsoft Office suite Discipline-specific technologies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Problem solving and decision‑making skills Ability to work independently and in a group Duties Teach and develop curriculum. Create and deliver learning experiences supporting student learning outcomes. Employ teaching methods to design and maintain an engaging learning environment. Assess student progress and provide feedback. Maintain classroom environment reflecting the college’s mission and values. Participate in program and discipline activities related to curriculum development and implementation. Contribute to program reviews and strategic planning with recommendations for curriculum, staffing, facilities, and equipment. Engage in ongoing professional development. Integrate relevant educational technology tools into teaching. Participate in department, division, campus, and college meetings and committees. Maintain weekly office hours as required by the CBA.
